Alchemy for the Android phone

(9/10)Alchemy is a very addicting game I recently found on the Android phone's market. I downloaded the free game because it had so many great reviews. Here's the objective:
•The player starts out with 4 basic elements (Air, Earth, Water, Fire)
•These elements must be mixed with each other to create more elements
•There are 300 elements to unlock starting only with the original 4

Some of these elements are actual elements in real life, but most of them are just random objects. For example, man is an elements in this game that is used to make a lot of different things.
This creative and well-made game is very addictive and enjoyable. I love this game because of how challenging it is, but also because it is funny. On the Andoid market this game got an incredible 5 OUT OF 5. I think that this game deserves that rating and I give it a 9 out of 10. I hope that anyone who owns an Android phone who reads this goes and downloads Alechemy ASAP. Good luck~.(9/10)

xxxHOLiC

Length: 26 episodes, 1 movie

(8.5/10)Summary: Watanukee (the boy on the right) is a slightly nerdy highschool student with a very strange trait: He's followed around relentlessly by spirits. One day, his spastic wanderings to get away from the spirits lead him to the house of Yuko, who grants people wishes for an equivalent price. She claims she will stop the spirits from following Watanukee if he does her cooking and cleaning. The job sounds easy at first, but soon Watanukee discovers that Yuko lives in no ordinary house, and keeps no ordinary company. Watanukee has to keep his contract with Yuko, while attempting to win the heart of his crush, Himuware, and avoid Domakee, his self-proclaimed arch nemesis. The result is a creepy, mysterious, and sometimes humorous adventure for Watanukee.

Review:
Story: 8/10 The concept of xxxHOLiC is strong and different. However, this anime does not follow in a gradual arc throughout. Most episodes can be watched as stand-alones, but viewing the first portion of the series is important to figure out what is going on.
Art: 6/10 Not my preference in this chategory. The world looks almost dreary at most times, and style in general is extremely simple. However, I must hand it to them that this simple, dreary style is well-executed throughout, and stays relatively close to the manga's. (Originally drawn by CLAMP)
Characters: 9/10 Watanukee is the deffinition of the classic anime spazz, accompanied by calm and collected Yuko. Yuko's dry whitty (and sometimes perverted) sense of humor and Watanukee's inability to take a joke combine to bring an entertaining outcome, though Watanukee's frequent outbursts do grow tiresome after 26 episodes of his freaking out. Those of you who have read/watched Tsubasa RESEVoir CHroNiCLE will probably recognise Yuko as the time/space witch, along with the smart mouthed magic puff ball known as Mokina. Watching these three in particular interact throughout really made the show for me.

Overall? I'd have to give xxxHOLiC an 8.5/10. I love the characters, as well as the relentless torture Yuko puts Watanukee through (it's a sight to see) I don't think I'd call this a must-see, but it's certainly worth your time.(8.5/10)

Until next time, thanks for reading.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Rei (OVA)

Director: Toshifumi Kawase
Studio: Studio Deen
No. of episodes: 5
(9/10)Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Rei is the OVA addition to the Higurashi series. It was mainly just created for fans. There isn't much to say about this season, but it is indeed very well made. There are three chapters in this season. One of the chapters is just about what life is like after the end of Kai. When Rika was trying to enjoy herself, she was hit by a truck. When she woke up, she was in a parallel world where nothing bad ever happened and everything was perfect. The only problem was that the group of friends were drawn together due to hardships. In this parallel world however, Rika had no friends and Keiichi had never come to the village. A lot more things were different and she could not live happily. She had two solutions, either kill her mother (you'll find out why if you watch it) and return to the old world, or she could just suffer where she was in order to make others happy.
The other two chapters were just for fun really. One of them is about a magical speedo. Keiichi is wearing it, but it will give him bad luck and he doesn't know it. The girls decide to try to save him by ripping it right off of him!
The last chapter is about these supernatural items that cause people to fall in love, but can become disastrous. Rena accidentally swallows one when it falls from the sky. Basically the rest is all humorous.(9/10)

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai (Second Season)

WARNING: SPOILERS
WARNING: THIS ANIME CONTAINS BLOOD AND GORE
Director: Chiaki Kon
Studio: Studio Deen
No. of episodes: 24
(9/10)Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai is basically meant to explain why things happened. This story is told from the perspective of Rika, and what secrets she has kept throughout the first season. If you were wondering, "why does everything just start over every chapter?", there is an explanation for that. In fact, a new character is even introduced in Kai, but the truth is is that she had been there throughout the entire 1st season.
Each chapter of the first season really did happen, but each one is in a different parallel world. Rika can travel through these worlds with the help of her "friend". I don't want to give everything away, so you should watch it for yourself. There was a purpose for each chapter in the 1st season, and everything was necesarry for the final outcome.
I loved this show and I definitely recommend it. I would give this show a 9 out of 10. It was fantastic and enjoyable. I hope you like it as much a I did!(9/10)

Fat Princess

Developed by: Titan Studios, Atomic Operations
Published by: Sony Computer Entertainment
Engine: Quark Engine (in-house)
Platforms: PSN and the PSP
PSN Release Date: July 30, 2009
ESRB Rating: Teen

(10/10)Fat Princess for the PS3 (PSN) is absolutely a fantastically well put together game. There are 5 original classes that each have an upgrade. These classes can be upgraded by using material such as wood and iron ore. The typical game mode "Rescue The Princess" is a battle between two teams. Each team is made up of 16 players/computers. You spawn as a villager, a character with 2 hearts but who is the fastest in the game with or without an item being carried. There are 5 additional classes to choose from (excluding classes from the new DLC expansion pack). Each class has a building that produces hats. When you pickup a hat from a specific building, you will become a specific character. You can also pickup hats from fallen soldiers on the battlefield. These are the 5 starting classes:

The Worker:
Health: 4 hearts
The worker is the second fastest character in the game. He can chop down trees and break off the iron ore in the rocks using an ax. The upgraded version of the worker carries around bombs for defense and attack, and an ax for obtaining wood and iron ore.

The Warrior:
Health: 6 hearts
The warrior carries around a sword and a shield. The shield can be used to block projectiles, while the sword can be used to slice enemies. The upgraded version of the warrior carries around a spear and can deal a pretty good amount of damage with it.

The Priest:
Health: 4 hearts
The priest carries around a staff that can be used to heal fellow soldiers within a certain range. He can also heal a large area all at once. The upgraded priest is a dark priest who can drain an enemy's health and gain it for himself. The priest can also curse multiple enemies within a certain range at once. The curse only lasts for a short amount of time, but it makes the enemy players have a hard time controlling their characters.

The Archer:
Health: 5 hearts
The archer carries around a bow with arrows and can set his arrows on fire for maximum damage. The upgraded version of the archer carries around a short range gun which can also be set on fire for maximum damage.

The Mage:
Health: 4 hearts
The mage carries around a fire staff that can burn enemies and cause damage over time. The mage can also burn multiple enemies at once within a certain range. The upgraded version of the mage has an ice staff that can freeze enemies completely or just slow them down. This also does some damage and can be fright frustrating if you're the one being frozen The mage can also freeze many enemies at once within a certain range.

The 3 extra classes that are available from the DLC expansion pack are not upgradable, but have special moves when a certain bar is filled. These three newcomers are:

The Ninja:
Health: 6 hearts
The ninja has a sword and shuriken. The sword is pretty powerful and the shuriken can also do a great deal of damage from a far distance. The ninja's special move is that the ninja can become invisible for a short amount of time and can slice an enemy coming out of invisibility. This move is very powerful online, and offline it is always a one hit kill.

The Pirate:
Health: 6 hearts
The pirate has a cutlass and a pistol that both do a great deal of damage just like the ninja. The pirate's special move is a cannonball strike. The pirate can call in a cannonball to a specific location within a certain range.

The Giant:
Health: 6 hearts
The giant is very powerful, but can only fight using hand-to-hand combat. The giant's special move is the ability to eat an enemy and gain health from it.

There are 9 different stages to play on in this game. There are 5 different game modes, and if you have friends over they can immediately join in the fun! These game modes include:
• Rescue The Princess
2 teams - each has the other's princess. A team has to capture and save their princess while keeping the other's princess locked up to win. You can feed the enemy's princess cake and make her fat so that it will be hard for the enemy to carry her away.
• Snatch'n'Grab
Almost the same thing as Rescue The Princess except that you have to rescue your team's princess 3 times to win!
• Team Deathmatch
2 teams - there are no princesses. This is an all out brawl.
• Invasion
2 teams - each team has to try to capture all of the outposts on the map to win.
• Arena (offline only)
You pick one of the 5 standard classes and enter an arena and try to kill as many enemies as you can before dying.
*There is one more game that I have seen in videos, but I cannot seem to find in the actually game. It is probably in there somewhere. This game is soccer - intensified 10x.*

In this game you can also rank up in the king's army and unlock items to customize your character with.

That's a summary of the game Fat Princess for the PS3 on the PSN. I would give this game an amazing score of 9.5 out of 10. It is a very addicting game, the only problem is that it gets a bit repetitive. Anyways, this game is definitely worth purchasing for a mere $15 on the PSN. I actually go it recently on sale for only $7. Back to the point - this game is very fun and worth trying out.(10/10)

Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan

*WARNING: SPOILERS*
Director: Osamu Yamasaki
Producers: Asuka Yamazaki, Kazuhiko Hasegawa, Mitsutoshi Ogura
Music by: Kow Otani
Studio: Studio DEEN
On the Air (Japan): April 4, 2010June 20, 2010
No. of Episodes: 12

(6/10)Hakuouki is an okay historical anime about a young girl named Yukimura Chizuru who goes out on an adventure to find her missing father. She disguises herself as a boy so that it won't look weird that she's walking alone. It was getting dark one night while she was walking through a town. She was spotted by these demon-like people called Rasetsu. She was cornered and about to be killed, when she was saved by the Shinsengumi, an all male police force. They did not know what to do with her because she had seen the Rasetsu, so they decided to take her back to their base. Not all of them noticed that she was a girl. Would she be killed or would they let her stay?
The Shinsengumi decided that Chizuru could stay, but that she had to keep the Rasetsu a secret. She gladly listened due to fear, but as time progressed she began to become friends with the Shinsengumi. She fit in as part of the group by the end, but she was being targeted by beings called Oni. Oni were people with a special blood that caused them to be very powerful compared to normal humans and they could also heal very quickly. Rasetsu were attempts to make a human into an Oni. It always failed, so as a result the Rasetsu were basically bloodthirsty beasts.
This show does not really have a defining ending. Basically it just ends without her finding her father or anything being resolved. This irritated me and the series was not that exciting either. It was a cool concept and not a horrible anime, but I've seen better. I would give this show a 6 out of 10. You can watch it if it interests you, but I just found it kind of dull.(6/10)

Angel Beats!

*WARNING: SPOILERS*
Written by and Music by: Jun Maeda
Directed By: Seiji Kishi
Produced By: Kenji Horikawa, Hiro Maruyama, Hironori Toba
Studio: P.A. Works
Licensed by: Aniplex
Aired (Japan): April 3, 2010 - June 26, 2010
No. of Episodes: 13 + 1 special

(8/10)Angel Beats! is a fantastically well put together anime. The setting is in a world after death, but before new life. It was created for teens who did not get to finish living their childhood and had past regrets. This place was like a purgatory. Yuzuru Otonashi, the main character of this show, joined a resistence against God named the SSS as soon as he woke up in the new world. This resistence was founded by Yuri Nakamura, a teenage girl who wanted to stay in the new world instead of vanishing like most people do. When people make up for their regrets, they vanish without a trace.
The one person that enforces the rules of this world the most is Kanade Tachibana, a misunderstood human taken to be an angel sent by God to lay down the rules. Yuri has assembled this resistence in order to eliminate Kanade and live in peace on the world between death and new life. The battles are always fierce, but in this world nobody can die, but each person can still feel the pain of it.
This anime was wonderful even though it's so short. I would definitely give it a 8 out of 10. This show is funny, sad, and intense. If you get a chance, watch it.(8/10)

Nyan Koi!

Writer: Sato Fujiwara
Directed by: Keiichiro Kawaguchi
Studio: AIC
No. of episodes: 12
(8/10)Nyan Koi! is a very comical anime about a high school student named Junpei Kōsaka. Junpei, who is allergic to cats, breaks the head of a holy cat statue and becomes cursed. He is able to understand cats, phase one of the curse, and he must fulfill 100 cats' wishes (1 per cat) or else he will become a cat himself. Due to his allergies, if he becomes a cat himself he will die because he will be allergic to himself and won't be able to breath. His journey is pretty interesting and quite funny at times, but just a warning: this show contains a pretty large amount of fan service.
Junpei Kōsaka likes this girl named Kaede Mizuno, who lives in a household of dogs but absolutely loves cats. She is only friends with Junpei and does not plan on anything else, and what makes it worse is that she is totally oblivious to the fact that he likes her. She realizes this later in the show, but there is always something stopping the two from getting together. There is another girl named Kanako Sumiyoshi who likes Junpei Kōsaka, but he has no feelings for her. She tries desperately to get him to like her, but she realizes something while trying. Watch the show to find out what happens to him with all of his cat mojo and all of the crushes. Oh, did I mention that there was magic too? Watch it to find out more!
This anime is definitely worth watching except for the fan service - unless of course you're interested in that sort of stuff. Anyways, I rate this anime a because it is very enjoyable, but not something to go crazy about. I hope you enjoy it too (if you watch it)!(8/10)

Death Note (TV)

*WARNING: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*
Author (Manga): Tsugumi Ohba
Director: Tetsurō Araki
Writer: Toshiki Inoue
Studio: Madhouse
No. of episodes: 37

(9.5/10)Death Note is the intense story of Light Yagami, a genius who comes across a supernatural notebook, the Death Note, during his high school years. Light quickly dismisses the thought that the Death Note is real and he simply believes that it is a prank. The Death Note has many rules, and on the first page it says that if you write down someone's name and have that person's face in your mind, that person will die.
The Death Note has many rules, so Light was thought that the person that made it went too far for a simple prank. So, he brought the book home and tested it out on a criminal shown on TV. Just as the notebook claims, the criminal died. It was that moment that Light had an idea, to change the world forever.
Light's goal was simple: End crime by killing every criminal and striking fear into people's hearts so that crime would never be committed again. He was to become the ruler of a new world.
After five days of judgment (killing the major criminals), the previous owner of the Death Note appeared. Ryuk, a death god, had dropped his notebook into the human world simply because he was bored. The human that picked up his notebook, Light, had become the new owner until death unless he gave it up. Ryuk became his partner, but only people who touch the Death Note can see and hear Ryuk, so no one would know about him unless they touched the notebook.
Light soon became known as Kira (derived from the word killer) throughout the world. However, he was up against the police at first and the world's best detective: L. L proved to be the most difficult challenge to Kira at first and Light was beginning to be figured out.
If I say any more I will be giving away too much of the story. It's a wonderful show and I hope you watch it soon. I watched it English subbed, but it's also out in English (dubbed). Light has a wonderful voice actor in Japanese and from what I've heard so far, the Japanese version (subbed version) is better. Anyways, This show definitely deserves at least a 9.5 out of 10 for it's excellence. However, not all of the characters are that pleasing. I think it's a very well thought out show and it should definitely be watched. Thanks for reading and I hope you like it!(9.5/10)

True Tears

*WARNING: CONTAINS SOME (I tried to hide most things) SPOILERS*

Series length: 13 episodes
Director: Junji Nishimura
Producer: Kenji Horikawa

(8/10)True Tears is an anime about a high school boy named Shinichirō Nakagami who enjoys to draw. He lives with his mom, his dad, and a childhood friend, Hiromi Yuasa, who lost both of her parents when she was younger. He doesn't have a very strong connection with her in high school at first, but as they both learn more about each other they become very good friends.
Early in the series Shinichirō meets a strange girl a year or two younger than him named Noe Isurugi. They meet and become friends all because a very obscure rooster. Noe loves this rooster, but it is soon attacked and dies. Noe basically has to put her love in someone else, and that's what she does. As they begin to hang out more people become suspicious and think that they are dating. Shinichirō is very embarrassed from this, but Noe doesn't seem to notice at all. Noe realizes that she doesn't just like Shinichirō as a friend anymore. He isn't sure what to do when he realizes this, until he makes a deal with Noe's brother.
Hiromi claims to like a boy on an opponent school's basketball team. Shinichirō later finds this out, and then he realizes that that basketball player is actually Noe's brother. That is when he makes the deal. Noe's brother loves Noe very much and wants to always take care of her, so he asks Shinichirō something very strange. Shinichirō doesn't know what to do, so he asks Noe's brother if he will do something for Shinichirō in return. Both sides of the deal are very strange and could be considered cruel towards others, but both of them carry out their sides.
Shinichirō doesn't really like Noe the way she likes him, and when she finds this out she is crushed. Things work out for some people in the end, and others are left hurt. This story really says that emotions can't be played with. I loved this show and I hope that you do too if you watch it. I give this an 8 out of 10.(8/10)
